TPHS ‘Pool’ Committee
January 13,2004

In attendance were: Rick Schmitt, Mark Lee, Bruce Gresham, Michelle Sanford, Steve George and Randy Mendioroz who is our pool advisor, designer, and ‘guru’

Pertinent topics discussed/ agreements were:
What pool do we need vs what we can afford Competition vs Recreation (both)

Rehab Therapy ‘warm pool’
Aquatic Programs i.e. Adaptive PE, swim instruction, lifesaving, scuba, water fitness programs, competitive athletics

2300 sqft of office, restroom*

mechanical spaces

Kicking off the ‘capital campaign’

Design to include shallow ‘L’ and Diving specs Short course vs Long course (both)

Moveable bulkhead

Multiple and concurrent uses A

second ‘instructional’ pool

Site plan developed first followed by artistic rendering

This meeting culminated with three pool configurations that would most fit our ‘needs’ of which one would be our final design plan:.
1. Single 50 M x 25 yd pool w/ Dive area and shallow end L (moveable bulkhead?)

2. Single 50 M x 25 yd pool w/ Dive area (bulk head stretched) and instructional 4 lane x 25 yd pool

3. Same as #2 and a warm pool.

TPHS Foundation: Dec 11, 2003

Presented to the TPHS Foundation Board, who support our project. They have estalished an account for the Pool and are sending thank you letters to the donars.

They asked "who is our core group of parents, how long and how much $ do we need?" All questions we need good answers for.

Meeting #3: Nov 25, 2003

The planning group grows and we set our first fundraising goal at $10,000. This will fund the preliminary facility design and marketing materials.

Dec. 1 is set as the kickoff date for our capital campagin. Start collecting names. If you want to help let us know.

Meeting #2: Oct 29, 2003

Met with Randy Mendioroz, President of one of the nation’s premiere aquatic consulting firms Aquatic Design Group. We have a little more focus now. Our next step is SDUHS District approval.
